This is what hotels do to prevent bad smells in the toilet bin

There's a trick to ensuring that your bathroom always smells good and, according to Informe Brasil, it's often used by hotels. This publication says that you only need two common ingredients to eliminate bad odours coming from the toilet bin.
The tip is incredibly simple. First, empty the bin. Then, you'll need baking soda, an ingredient known for its cleaning and odour-neutralising properties. Just sprinkle a little at the bottom of the bin to absorb and neutralise unpleasant smells.

If you can't or don't want to empty the bin, you can sprinkle a little baking soda directly into the bin to prevent odours from spreading.
If none of this works, don't despair and put two cotton balls soaked in essential oil in the bin. This will help to maintain a pleasant aroma.
