"It is hereditary and is associated with a deficiency in blood clotting, due to a decrease in the levels of one of the factors, that is, one of the proteins that contribute to the coagulation cascade", reveals Daniela Pereira Alves, a hematologist at Hospital Lusíadas Lisboa.
