Good news! British chef Jamie Oliver recently launched a new cooking show on Channel 4 where air fryer recipes take centre stage. Among the many dishes he’s taught us to make are these mouthwatering Cheddar and chive savoury scones.  Fancy giving them a go? Here’s the recipe as shared on his website.

Ingredients: 
200g self-raising flour, plus extra for dusting
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon mustard powder
Pinch of cayenne pepper
75g cold unsalted butter
120g mature cheddar cheese
1 small bunch of chives
70ml milk, plus extra for glazing
Olive oil, for greasing
200g light cream cheese
1 lemon

Method: 
1- Sift the flour, baking powder and mustard into a large bowl, then add a generous pinch of cayenne pepper and some sea salt.
2- Dice the butter and, using your fingertips, rub it into the flour mixture until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.
3- Grate in the cheddar and finely chop the chives. Stir to combine.
4- Make a well in the centre of the mixture, pour in the milk and bring together to form a soft, dry dough – use your hands to bring it together if you need to, but don’t be tempted to overmix – adding a little more milk if needed.
5- Tip the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and quickly work into a round about 3cm thick. Then cut into six triangular wedges. 
6- Brush the tops of the scones with a little milk, then scatter over any remaining cheese and a final sprinkling of cayenne. 
7- Lightly grease the inside of your air fryer basket with a tablespoon of olive oil. Place the scones in the basket and cook for 12 minutes at 180°C. You may need to work in batches.
8- To serve, make a simple dip by combining the cream cheese with the zest of half a lemon in a small bowl, then drizzle over a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and season with black pepper.
