Do you leave your cat's food bowl on the ground? Is there any benefit to raising it slightly? If you've never considered it before, a vet has explained all.

"The only way to determine which style of bowl is most comfortable for your cat is to offer both options and see which style your cat prefers," she continued. "An elevated bowl should never be considered a treatment for gastrointestinal problems in cats."
There are some cases where it could be beneficial. "If your cat has severe dental disease, a neurologic problem or even a severe upper respiratory infection that makes swallowing difficult, an elevated food bowl may help."
Pets with mobility issues may also benefit from a raised bowl.
