Wolverhampton give crisis the 'brush-off' with Portuguese help

Wolverhampton put an end to a seven-game winless streak early on Saturday afternoon, by defeating Luton Town 2-1 in a match played at Molineux.

Hwang Hee-Chan broke the deadlock in the 39th minute, and at the start of the second half, it was the turn of Portuguese international Toti Gomes to celebrate, heading in a corner kick taken by Mario Lemina. The response came close to the final whistle, with Carlton Morris scoring.

With this victory, Wolverhampton now has 35 points and provisionally rises to tenth place in the English championship, leaving behind Bournemouth and Brighton, who will still face off on Sunday.

Luton Town, on the other hand, is in 18th place, just below the 'waterline', with 25 points, one less than Nottingham Forest, by Nuno Espírito Santo, who has a match scheduled with the defending champion, Manchester City.
