These numbers bring closer the possibility of beating the record of 10,731 voting members, who participated in the 1988 elections.

João Rafael Koehler, candidate for vice-president for List A, led by Pinto da Costa, showed his conviction that "more than 20,000 members" will vote in this electoral act, and shared his experience in the suffrage.

"It went very well, I was in the queue with other members, and in about 10 minutes I had already voted. The organisation is impeccable. You can't please everyone, but I'm very happy with the way everything was organised", said João Rafael Koehler.

The member of List A said "to be in favour of transparency and rigour" and showed himself satisfied that this suffrage demonstrates the "great interest in the life of the club".

"That's also why we insisted that during today all members who didn't have their quotas paid could pay and vote", he added.

The candidate for vice-president considered that the campaign of List A fulfilled its objectives, and showed himself hopeful for a good electoral result.

"We made a dignified campaign with good proposals. We think they are the most appropriate for FC Porto, we have the feeling that the work was well done. The confidence [in the victory] is total. We presented our ideas and projects, travelling the country from 'lés e lés'. But today is not the day to campaign", shared João Rafael Koehler.

The elections of the social bodies of FC Porto for the four-year period 2024-2028 are disputed by three candidacies, led by Pinto da Costa (list A), André Villas-Boas (B), former coach of the football team, and Nuno Lobo (C), businessman and professor, also including an independent list for the Superior Council led by Miguel Brás da Cunha (D).

The electoral act will take place until 8 pm today, at the Estádio do Dragão, in Porto, at a time when Pinto da Costa is serving his 15th consecutive term, since 1982, and holds the status of leader with the most titles and longevity in world football.
