Mourinho rejects national team offer to return to work
Portuguese coach has reportedly been approached by the Canadian Soccer Association.

José Mourinho has reportedly rejected an approach to take over as head coach of Canada, who have been without a manager since John Herdman left at the end of 2023 to take charge of Toronto FC.
The Portuguese coach has also been out of work for the past three months, since he was sacked by Roma. However, according to a report in British newspaper Standard on Thursday, he has informed the Canadian Soccer Association that he is not interested in the role.
Frank Lampard has also reportedly turned down the job, as the search continues for the right man to lead the North American nation into the 2026 World Cup, which they will co-host.
Names such as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Jesse Marsch, Paul Clement, Aitor Karanka and Bobby Smyrniotis are now said to be under consideration, with an appointment expected to be made soon.
