The Dutch midfielder Teun Koopmeiners scored the first goal of the match, and the only one of the first half, for the hosts, just eight minutes in, but the Argentine defender Lucas Martinez Quarta equalized the score, at 68, at a time when Fiorentina was already down to 10 men, after the expulsion of Nikola Milenkovic (53).

The scoreboard changed again through Gianluca Scamacca, at 75, and, already in stoppage time, the Nigerian striker Ademola Lookman (90+4) and the Croatian midfielder Mario Pasalic (90+8) scored the goals that confirmed the qualification of the Bergamo team for the final of the transalpine Cup.

In the final, scheduled for May 15, Atalanta will face Juventus, who on Tuesday eliminated Lazio from the decisive game of the competition.
