Benfica 'put their foot down' and join FC Porto in the league lead

Benfica added their fifth consecutive win in all competitions this Saturday, by beating CD Póvoa (101-75), in the penultimate round of the national basketball championship, tying with FC Porto in the competition lead.

The Eagles started stronger and, at the end of the first period, were already winning by 24-18, increasing the advantage in the second quarter (22-19) to 46-37 at half-time.

The trend continued in the third period (34-25), with the fourth and final period (21-13) culminating in the final 101-75.

With this result, Benfica and FC Porto enter the last round of the regular stage with the same 38 points in the lead, while CD Póvoa is sixth, with 33 points.
