Former Palmeiras player Wesley Ribeiro sealed the victory for the Porto Alegre team at 45 minutes, after an assist from Colombian Rafael Santos Borré, who redeemed himself from the missed penalty at 22, when he didn't hit the goal.

With this result, Internacional, who had beaten Bahia 2-1 at home in the first round, maintained their winning streak, for a total of six points, double the amount of Palmeiras, who also won in the first round (1-0 at Vitória).

If Abel Ferreira's team suffered their first defeat, Bragantino, led by Pedro Caixinha, made their winning debut, beating Vasco da Gama 2-1 at home, after a 2-2 draw at the home of South American champions Fluminense, to now have four points.

Vitinho, with a goal at 78 minutes, decided the match, after Argentinian Pablo Veggeti restored equality for the visitors at 63, nullifying the opening goal scored by the hosts, by Uruguayan Ignacio Laquintana, at seven.

On the other hand, Corinthians, led by António Oliveira, still haven't won, since, after the goalless draw against Atlético Mineiro, they lost 2-0 at Juventude, who won with goals from Jean Carlos (53 minutes) and Lucas Barbosa (59).
