Bayern Munich secured a place in the Champions League semi-finals on Wednesday after beating Arsenal (1-0). After the first leg of the quarter-finals ended in a draw (1-1) in London, the Bavarians were superior in the second duel on German soil and eliminated FC Porto's executioner from the Champions League.

The only goal of the match was scored by Joshua Kimmich in the 63rd minute, after a cross by Raphael Guerreiro, the only Portuguese on the pitch.

Arsenal are thus out of the Champions League after eliminating FC Porto on penalties in the previous round, while Bayern will play the semi-final against the winner of the duel between Manchester City and Real Madrid, whose tie is not yet resolved.

Bayern Munich host Arsenal on Wednesday in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. After the draw (2-2) in London over a week ago, it was the turn of the Bavarians and the Gunners to face off in Germany, at a time when their respective national objectives... became complicated.
