City wants to 'steal' Musiala from Bayern and is willing to sacrifice star

Manchester City are considering a move for Jamal Musiala, the young Germany international who is beginning to make a telling contribution to Bayern Munich, The Independent reported on Friday.

The newspaper said that despite his increasingly prominent role in Munich, Musiala is seeking assurances over Bayern's direction following a poor season that could see them surrender their Bundesliga crown to Bayer Leverkusen.

Under contract until June 2026, Manchester City join Liverpool, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in hoping to sign Musiala in the near future.

To do so, City chiefs know they may have to sacrifice one of their current stars, with Phil Foden and Kevin de Bruyne the obvious candidates.

Musiala, who came through Chelsea's academy and is eligible to play for England as well as Germany, is in his fifth season with Bayern, and has scored 12 goals and provided seven assists in 34 appearances this term.
