Bayern Munich loses again and leaves Leverkusen two points from the title

Bayer Leverkusen took another giant step towards winning the (unprecedented) German championship title this Saturday, after beating Union Berlin (1-0) and seeing Bayern Munich suffer another setback (2-3) in their visit to Heidenheim. With six more rounds to go and a 16-point difference, Xabi Alonso's team is just two points away from being able to celebrate (early).

This means that Leverkusen could celebrate as early as next round if they beat Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich fails to do the same against Cologne.

On Saturday afternoon, Xabi Alonso's team was less inspired than usual, but Wirtz's goal, from a penalty, just before half-time, ended up being worth the win.

In Heidenheim, Bayern Munich went into half-time winning by two goals (Harry Kane and Gnabry), but 'ruined the painting' in the second half, with the home team signing the epic comeback with goals from Sessa (50') and Kleindienst, twice (51' and 79').

After 28 rounds, Bayer Leverkusen now has 76 points and remains in the isolated lead, while Bayern Munich has only 60.
