The heavy defeat suffered in the trip to the Emirates Stadium, against Arsenal, last Tuesday, by 5-0, will have been, by all accounts, the last game played by Enzo Fernández with the Chelsea jersey, this season.

This is because, according to information provided by the Argentine newspaper Olé, the former Benfica player decided to undergo surgery, once and for all, which will aim to overcome an inguinal hernia with which he has been struggling, for several weeks now.

This operation will leave the albiceleste international 'out of action' for a period of no less than three weeks, so he will be out of Mauricio Pochettino's options against Aston Villa, Tottenham, West Ham, Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Bournemouth.

The 23-year-old midfielder's goal, adds the publication, is to arrive in the best possible conditions for the Copa América, which will take place between June 20 and July 14, in the United States of America.
