Benfica defeat FC Porto in the Clássico for beginners and already 'smell' the title

Benfica took, at the end of the morning this Sunday, another step towards winning the national youth championship title, when they visited and defeated FC Porto, at the Dr. Jorge Sampaio Stadium, in Pedroso, by 0-2.

A Classic match with few great goal opportunities, in which the scoreboard only changed after 58 minutes, when Tomás Almeida (who, moments before, had fallen and asked for a penalty) took advantage of an incomplete save by Francisco Mendes to a shot by Simão Constantino to score a goal.

'Boosted' by the advantage in the result, the reds returned to the attack, and, only two minutes later, they scored again, this time, through Sevastian Belov, who took advantage of a mistake by the opposing defense.

With this victory, Benfica now has 28 points out of a possible 30, which puts them in the lead in the championship qualification phase, now, with a nine-point advantage over FC Porto.

The dragons remain in second place, but now, with the 'company' of Belenenses, who, on the eve, visited and defeated Tondela, by 0-2.
