Manchester City thrashes Luton and will sleep in the Premier League lead

Manchester City thrashed Luton Town 5-1 on Saturday to move top of the Premier League, at least until Sunday afternoon.
In a game where Bernardo Silva did not leave the bench, the Portuguese Rúben Dias and Matheus Nunes were starting options for Pep Guardiola and the home team even went into the break with an advantage, with an early own goal from Hashioka in the second minute of the match.
Already in the second half, Kovacic scored a great goal in the 64th minute and saw Erling Haaland return to goals, from a penalty, in the 73rd minute.
Within the last ten minutes, Barkley reduced (81'), but Doku and Gvardiol closed the rout, with the final 5-1, at 87' and 90+3', respectively.
With this result, Manchester City provisionally climbs to the leadership of the Premier League, with 73 points, two more than rivals Arsenal and Liverpool, who only play this Sunday. Luton is 18th, with 25 points, in the relegation zone, one behind Nottingham Forest, by Nuno Espírito Santo, above the waterline.
