Sporting continues unstoppable towards the national champion title. In the trip to Gil Vicente's home, the lions gave no room for any reaction from the "gilistas" and won without dispute with an expressive triumph based on four goals.

The team from Alvalade starred in a suffocating entrance and, after ten minutes, was already winning by 0-2 thanks to the goals of Francisco Trincão and Diomande. With no time to lose, the Portuguese scored twice in the match half an hour later, before Andrew took the 'bread out of Gyokeres' mouth' and put the ball in his own goal.

With the match resolved in 45 minutes, largely due to the high pressure exerted by the lions in the initial stage, the team coached by Rúben Amorim took the opportunity to manage the match's accounts and enjoy the advantage brought from the first half.

There was room to save some of the main pieces in view of the duel with Famalicão on Tuesday and 'pack' the opponent towards a quiet end of the game. The lions remain at a high level of confidence and there is now time to settle the accounts in the championship and establish an even more comfortable advantage over Benfica.

But let's go to the notes of this match:

Figure

Linked to a departure from Sporting in the summer, Francisco Trincão responded to the rumors with a luxury performance. He opened the scoring after eight minutes and scored twice half an hour later. In between, he could have scored one more goal. He was always a headache for the "gilistas".

Surprise

In the absence of Hjulmand, Daniel Bragança was called to the starting eleven and once again showed all his quality. He was the 'brain' of Sporting in this match and most of the lions' offensive initiatives went through him. He signed an assist.

Disappointment

Gabriel Pereira has already shown that he is a quality centre-back, but in this duel in Barcelos he was a bit lost. He was unable to contain the mobility of the men in front of Sporting, with the lions easily passing through the "gilistas" defensive axis.

Coaches

Carlos Cunha:

He had the thankless task of bridging the gap between Vítor Campelos and Tozé Marreco, who will be the next coach of Gil Vicente. Still, it seems that he prepared the match badly. The home team gave the opponent a 45-minute lead and scored four goals in that period. The first changes came at half-time, too late to prevent this heavy result.

Rúben Amorim:

He moved in a fundamental sector of the team, but did not unbalance the dynamics. The rain of goals in the first half allowed the lions to slow down the pace in the second half and rest some of the main elements of the squad in view of the duel against Famalicão next week. The 'steamroller' is oiled for this final stretch.

Refereeing

Nothing to point out in the work of the refereeing team led by Manuel Oliveira.
