Lisbon will once again host another edition of the Lisbon Bar Show. The city will once again become the world capital of 'bartending' between May 14 and 15. The highlight of this ninth edition is Peru, which will feature dozens of international professionals and a space dedicated to non-alcoholic beverages. According to the organization, the meeting is "the largest hospitality, restaurant and hotel event in Portugal" and promotes trends and news in the area of 'bartending' and 'cocktails'. "It is not an alcohol and 'bartender' fair, it is an event closely related to tourism, restaurants, hotels, in a word, hospitality", the founder, Alberto Pires, told Lusa. From Peru, he added, "people almost only know 'pisco sour', but there are more drinks and spirits", which will be presented, along with Peruvian gastronomy, in the Tejo Room of the Altice Arena. Another novelty of this edition is the existence of a non-alcoholic beverage bar. According to Alberto Pires, there are currently "many beverage brands that are presenting non-alcoholic spirits". Mark it in your diary. Here comes the biggest stag party in Portugal (Portuguese version) Despite the concept "confusing many people who are not in the business", these drinks "contain all the flavours and aromas of the original drink, only the alcohol has been extracted" and therefore "they can be drunk at will", he explained. Over two days, the event will feature around 140 exhibitors and various activities, such as the Vintage Cocktail Competition, the Mojito Forum, the Lisbon Bar Show Awards (which annually distinguish the best 'bartenders' and 'bairmaids'), the Brands Room, 'masterclasses' and 'workshops'. The Iberian Bartenders Congress will also return, after its first edition last year, a 'networking' space where brands, points of sale and 'bartenders' can access new techniques and tools from professionals in the field. More than 30 speakers, including "some of the best in the bar industry", come "from the four corners of the world", from Colombia to South Korea, for presentations never seen before in Portugal. Among others, the organization highlights Aaron Diaz, Anxo Vila, David Blom, Demie Kim Tom Dyer or Mónica Berg, named the most influential person in the Bar World 100 by Drinks International, and, from Portugal, Ana Camacho, chef Kiko, Duarte Coelho, Fernão Gonçalves, Gonçalo Almeida, Paulo Ramos, Pedro Simões, Paulo Gomes, Sergio Padilla and Rodolfo Tristão. In the previous edition, around 7,000 people visited the Lisbon Bar Show, a number that the organization hopes to repeat this year. The initiative is dedicated to professionals in the sector, but open to the general public. Tickets cost 29 euros, in pre-sale until May 10, and 39 euros on the days of the event. Read Also:
