After losing 8 kilos, Colombian mayor loses pants during speech

The mayor of the municipality of Sabanalarga, in Colombia, went through an embarrassing moment while giving a speech at a school. José Elias Chams was left in his underwear on stage, after the pants he was wearing fell to the ground.
According to the website Colombiaone, the moment happened while the mayor was giving a speech at a ceremony commemorating the 109th anniversary of the Codesa school. As soon as his pants fell, the man was helped by an assistant who helped him pull up and put his pants back on.
The moment was recorded on video, and the audience's applause can be heard. The incident is said to have been caused by the man's weight loss. "Today I go down in history. I lost eight kilos", admitted José Elias Chams.
Despite the embarrassing moment, the event continued normally.
