Brazil. Man arrested 2 years after escaping from police headquarters in handcuffs

A man who escaped from the Federal Police headquarters two years ago while handcuffed was recaptured on Sunday in Fortaleza, Brazil.
Alan Cléber Nascimento dos Santos escaped on April 27, 2022, and was found in the same area where he was first arrested. According to G1, the police arrested the man for the crimes of introducing counterfeit money into circulation, robbery and drug trafficking.
The criminal was first arrested on April 26, 2022, in the Granja Portugal neighborhood, when he received a package of counterfeit bills worth 3,000 reais (about 544 euros). At the time, Alan was taken to the Federal Police headquarters, from where he escaped the next day.
In the days following the escape, the Federal Police used a helicopter in the search for the fugitive. In May 2022, the authorities executed four search and seizure warrants at the homes of people suspected of being involved in Alan's escape. Forty agents participated in the operation.
