Sporting fans' 'party' costs the club a heavy fine

Sporting, who could celebrate the title this weekend if they beat FC Porto and receive 'help' from Benfica, were fined by the Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Football Federation on Friday in more than 12 thousand euros. The acts in question took place in the match against Vitória SC, on April 21, for the I League.

First, for a fine of "incorrect behaviour of the public", with dozens of pyrotechnic devices set off. This was worth a penalty of 9560 euros.

Then, another for "entry and permanence of unauthorised objects", namely banners saying "I want to be champion again" or "fans". Another 3190 euros in fines.

In that same match, Vitória SC was also fined 857 euros for incorrect behaviour of the public, namely insulting chants.
