Authorities warn of setbacks in the opening ceremony of the Olympics
The cause is waiting times of "4 or 5 hours" or poor visibility.

In a letter addressed to the federation presidents and consulted by L'Equipe, the president of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF), David Lappartient, issued a warning about the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. He specifies that the guest seats "offer no guarantee of visibility" and that "the journey to pass through the access controls could take between 4 and 5 hours".
The opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics could leave some people disappointed. Some of the seats will indeed be reserved for guests, chosen by each federation.
It is notably specified, in the aforementioned letter, that these seats intended for guests (10,000 out of 222,000 seats) will be "outdoors, located in boxes along the Seine". Each beneficiary will have the opportunity to bring three people of their choice. But above all, you will have to be prepared for a long wait.
David Lappartient explains that these guests will have to arrive well in advance, because "the journey to pass through the access controls could take between 4 and 5 hours". All this before a ceremony whose timings have not yet been confirmed but which should last more than 3 hours. This promises many hours standing up, with no possibility of sitting down, since no area is provided for this purpose in the spaces reserved for guests.
Another piece of information that is not detailed, the spectators placed in this location may not fully benefit from the ceremony. Lappartient indicates that "there is no guarantee of possible visibility", but assures that "giant screens will mark out the route to allow the programme to be followed with live television broadcasts".
