Marcus Rashford took to social media on Friday to hit out at the abuse he has received in recent months following a season below expectations on the pitch.

"I appreciate your support! It is abuse and has been for months. Enough is enough," the England international wrote in response to a post from the UtdParadigm page, which described the way he has been treated by the "vicious" English press as "absolutely disgusting" and "cruel".

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with Burnley later, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag offered his support to the 26-year-old.

"I have a lot of compassion for Rashy. Last year he had a brilliant season, his best season ever. He scored 30 goals. You could see what he is capable of. This season it is not going so well and people are critical," he said.
