AS Roma looking for 'new Tiago Pinto' and there is another candidate

Tiago Pinto left his role as AS Roma's sporting director almost three months ago, but the club still haven't appointed a replacement. However, there is a new candidate in the frame. According to reports in Italy on Thursday from Sky Sport, Nicolas Burdisso is a name that appeals to the American-owned club's hierarchy and he is said to have been 'positively evaluated' by coach Daniele de Rossi. The former Argentina international was a team-mate of the Italian during his time with the Giallorossi between 2009 and 2014. They then crossed paths again, this time during De Rossi's spell at Boca Juniors, from 2019 to 2020. Burdisso has already announced that he will be leaving Fiorentina at the end of the season, where he has been working in a similar role, so a move to the Stadio Olimpico would not be problematic.
