The match between Marseille and Benfica this Thursday, for the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals, promises to be full of strong emotions, but it has already started to heat up even before the final whistle scheduled for 8 pm this Thursday.

According to information revealed by radio RMC Sport, ten Benfica fans were removed from a restaurant in the city of Marseille, as a way to avoid an even greater conflict.

The same source reveals that dozens of Marseille ultras fans were looking for these Benfica supporters. In order to avoid a scenario of great violence, the police went to the scene and removed the Benfica fans from there. They were then escorted to the hotel where they are staying.

It is recalled that the French authorities have implemented a security system to accommodate up to 3,500 fans of the Portuguese club tonight at the Vélodrome. About 1,000 agents were assigned to this match.
