Despite having learned of his mother's death this Friday, Andrew Ventura will play for Gil Vicente against Sporting, since he is part of the eleven chosen by interim coach Carlos Cunha.

The Brazilian goalkeeper left a long message on social media on Friday afternoon, paying tribute to his mother, but that will not stop him from representing Gil Vicente, where he has been the owner and master of the goal since the beginning of the season.

"I thank God for choosing you in my life, you were the one who always supported me. There are no words to describe this moment, only gratitude for everything you did for me, I can't believe you're gone, exactly 1 month before your birthday," he began by writing.

"God wanted you to celebrate this date with him. You were a warrior, you raised 3 men when many doubted. After 15 years you and my father met again, hug him for me and tell him everything we have achieved. You left physically, but you will always be in my heart. I am absolutely sure that you fulfilled your mission here on earth, and you are leaving proud of everything you did," added the 22-year-old athlete.

"I ask God from the bottom of my heart that you may rest in eternal peace. Thank you for everything, mother. I love you eternally," completed the Brazilian goalkeeper.
