Plays for Tottenham and reveals: "My father was a secret agent"

Micky van de Ven, Tottenham's centre-back, gave an extensive interview to the British newspaper Daily Mail, in which he 'lifted the veil' on his family past, with some curious revelations in between.

"I didn't know everything my father did, because it was quite dangerous. For me, he was just my father, so I take it normally. I was very young, but yes, he was an undercover cop, so he was working on the highest criminals in the Netherlands," he began by saying.

"I can't say too much, of course. He was working with other guys. They were working from a place somewhere in the Netherlands, and he was always there, every day. He came home late and with different cars, you know?" he added.

Now, he stresses, he is exclusively focused on football, and thanks Ange Postecoglou for the trust he has placed in him: "The way he spoke to me and the confidence he gave me convinced me, my father and my agent that it was a good step".
