Left sings "Grândola, Vila Morena" at the end of the plenary session
MPs from the PS, BE, PCP, Livre benches and the PAN MP sang today "Grândola, Vila Morena", one of the code songs of the April Revolution, after the solemn session of the 50th anniversary of April 25th had been declared closed.

All Chega deputies left the plenary, as well as the two CDS-PP representatives and some from the PSD, but the majority of the social democratic bench remained in the room, as did the IL.
Before the start of the solemn session, the vice-president of the PS bench Pedro Delgado Alves had been distributing the lyrics of Zeca Afonso's music to the socialist bench.
In the end, after the national anthem was heard and the president of the Assembly of the Republic, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, declared the session closed, the deputies on the left stood up and sang "Grândola", with their arms raised holding carnations.
A similar moment had also happened at the end of last year's solemn session.
