Kim Yo-Jong, the sister of North Korean leader, said North Korea will continue to "build up the most powerful military force" to protect its "sovereignty" and "regional peace." The report was carried by North Korea's state news agency KCNA on Tuesday, according to Reuters.

Kim Jong-Un's sister said military drills conducted by the U.S. military in the region this year, including live-fire exercises with "the south Korean puppet military gangsters," were jeopardizing regional security.

"We will continue to build up the most powerful military force and the war deterrent to safeguard our sovereignty, security and regional peace," she said.

The United States and South Korea have conducted a series of increasingly large-scale military exercises in recent months, as North Korea has escalated threats toward its southern neighbor.
