And of course, Portugal had to be on the list of countries with the best beaches in Europe. The experts at Book Retreats, a travel booking 'website', ranked several European beaches and presented the countries that received the highest scores.
Praia da Samoqueira, in Porto Covo, was one of those mentioned, as well as Praia da Falésia, in Albufeira. "The contrast between the clay cliffs and the vibrant blue waters attracts visitors from all over the world," they reveal.

They also mention that Portugal is a safe destination and offers a good climate practically all year round.
And it's not just the national sands that are on the list. Spain was another country referenced on this list. La Concha, in San Sebastian, is one of the must-see places.
