Pierre Fernandes, Portuguese international rugby player, dies at 22

The Portuguese Rugby Federation (FPR) announced, in the form of a statement issued through its official platforms at the end of Saturday morning, that Pierre Fernandes died at the age of 22, the victim of a road accident.

"It is with great regret that the FPR announces the death of Portuguese international Pierre Fernandes, following a road accident. The 22-year-old pillar, currently playing for Vienne Rugby, was also an under-20 international for Portugal, having been European runner-up in 2021", it can be read.

"The FPR extends its deepest condolences to Pierre's entire family and thanks him for his contribution to the sport", completes the body that governs the sport on national soil.
