AS Roma returned, at the end of the afternoon this Sunday, to mark the pace in the race for the qualifying places for the next edition of the Champions League, having failed to go beyond a two-all draw, when visiting Napoli.

The Giallorosso team was the first to celebrate at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, following a penalty converted by Paulo Dybala, at 59 minutes. However, the response from the reigning Italian champions came just five minutes later, through Mathias Olivera.

At 84 minutes, Victor Osimhen put the ball in the back of the net, guarded by Mile Svilar, former Benfica goalkeeper, in the collection of another kick from the 11-meter mark, and, at 90, it was Tammy Abraham's turn to score and seal the final result.

It is worth mentioning that Renato Sanches (who replaced Edoardo Bove, at 69 minutes) was the only Portuguese international to step on the Azzurri pitch, since Mário Rui and Rui Patrício ended up not leaving the bench.

Despite this result, AS Roma remains in fifth place in Serie A, with 59 points. However, it now has only a two-point advantage over Atalanta, which, at the same time, received and beat Empoli, 2-0, and has a game in arrears. Napoli is eighth, with 50 points.
