"Schmidt wants Benfica to believe in themselves. They will be champions again"
The former forward did not hesitate to praise the coach he met at Salzburg and Beijing Guoan.

At a time when Roger Schmidt has been increasingly criticized as Benfica's head coach, there are those who believe that it would be a mistake for Rui Costa to fire the German coach, as is the case of Jonathan Soriano, with whom he worked at Salzburg and Beijing Guoan, not hesitating to praise his former coach.
"He is a very experienced coach and a great human being. He is someone who knows how to deal with players and identify problems. He is very communicative and understanding. His style of play is very aggressive and offensive, which helps the forwards to score more goals", he began by saying, in statements to the newspaper A Bola.
"Schmidt is methodical and he is a coach who wants all players to run and do their job. He doesn't like star players who only run to score goals. If something goes wrong, he corrects it", he stressed.
"He has one of the best styles and philosophies in Europe. Roger needs Benfica and his players to believe in his style. That way, they will become champions again and be a great team in Europe", he added.
