"Benfica can still expect great things from Schjelderup"
Nordsjaelland's football director stresses that "the plan" for the young prospect "is to return" to Luz.

Acquired from Nordsjaelland just over a year ago, for a sum in the region of nine million euros, Andreas Schjelderup did not succeed at Benfica, which is why he ended up returning to his 'starting point', in search of a better version of himself.
This season, in Denmark, the player who is only 19 years old has already scored seven goals and ten assists in 32 official matches, and the director of football of the club that saw him 'born' into the world of football, Jan Laursen, says he has no doubt that the club from Luz "can still expect great things" from him.
"Why not? There was a reason they bought him, because of his quality. I am certain that he will recover (...). He has a very strong character, a good mindset, he works very hard and I believe that this return was a very good opportunity to have more minutes before having a new chance at Benfica", he stated.
"But we also know that there are many good players at Benfica. Timing is also important, knowing when is the right time for a young person to have their opportunity", he added, in an interview given to the Thursday edition of the newspaper O Jogo.
The director also stressed that "the plan" for the forward "is to return" to playing with the eagle on his chest, which is why a possible acquisition is 'out of the question': "He is a Benfica player and that is what he is waiting for. He wants to play for that great club. We are only focused on the objectives that we have in the championship".
