Murray gives Nuggets second win over Lakers in playoffs
A buzzer-beater by Jamal Murray gave the defending champion Denver Nuggets a 101-99 home victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 2 of their first-round Western Conference playoff series Monday night.

After winning the first game 114-103, the Colorado team was losing the second by 20 (48-68, in the second half), but managed to recover and reach 2-0 in the series, thanks to Murray's inspiration in the decisive moments.
The Nuggets' point guard entered the last minute with 14 points - and only seven field goals converted, out of 22 attempted -, to finish with 20, by scoring the team's last six: two free throws with 57 seconds to play, to tie at 97, a field goal at 30, to tie at 99, and the winning basket.
"I lost my balance and fell. I think AD [Anthony Davis] was in front of me, or someone was in front of me, and I just heard everyone screaming... That's how I knew the ball had gone in," Murray said at the end, admitting that he had not been able to see his 'work of art'.
In addition to Murray, the hosts were highlighted by the 'triple double' of Serbian center Nikola Jokic, who added 27 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists, and also by the 22 points and nine rebounds of Michael Porter Jr. and the 14 points of Aaron Gordon.
For the visitors, Anthony Davis added 32 points and 11 rebounds, but could not prevent Murray's basket in the last possession of the ball, while LeBron James totaled 26 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds, but missed, alone, the potential 'triple' of the victory, 16 seconds from the end.
D'Angelo Russell, with 23 points, including seven 'triples' scored, in 11 attempts, was also in good shape for the Californians, who suffered their 10th consecutive defeat against the defending champions.
In a first round with only home wins so far, in 11 games, the New York Knicks, by beating the Philadelphia 76ers 104-101, and the Cleveland Cavaliers, with a victory over the Orlando Magic 96-86, also lead their series by 2-0.
