League condemns incidents at Chaves-Estoril and calls for "uncompromising" action
The Portuguese Professional Football League today condemned "vehemently" the incidents in the final part of the match between Desportivo de Chaves and Estoril Praia, including pitch invasion, challenging the authorities to be "unyielding" with the offenders.

"Liga Portugal strongly condemns the incidents that occurred during today's match between Grupo Desportivo de Chaves and Estoril Praia and urges fans to adopt responsible behaviour, in keeping with the spectacle that a football match should always be", the organisation defended in a statement.
During stoppage time, some Flavian fans invaded the pitch, one of whom went to confront goalkeeper Marcelo Carné, who allegedly provoked them throughout the second half.
The 'canarinhos' footballers immediately went to the aid of their goalkeeper, with Pedro Álvaro overstepping the mark and violently kicking one of the invaders. The match was stopped for about 20 minutes, with the visitors being reduced to nine players after the sending off of Marcelo Carné and Pedro Álvaro.
"Liga Portugal also urges the competent authorities to be relentless with those who, thanks to inadmissible attitudes, disrupted the normal course of the match in question", the institution added.
The Flavians took the lead in the 32nd minute, through João Correia, but Estoril turned the score around, with goals from Basso (58) and Fabrício (71).
The equaliser for the team from Trás-os-Montes would be scored by Morim, in the 90+20th minute, when the visitors were already down to nine men and with an adapted goalkeeper.
Estoril Praia drew their third game without a win, and are 14th, with 30 points, while Chaves are 17th and second to last, with 23, six points behind Estrela da Amadora, the first team 'safe'.
