With a comeback, Lyon defeats PSG in the Champions League semi-finals
O Lyon, with three goals in the last 10 minutes, recovered today from a two-goal deficit to beat Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), 3-2, in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Women's Champions League.

Marie-Antoinette Katoto had put the Parisians in a comfortable position with goals in the 44th and 48th minutes, but the players of Portuguese descent Sonia Bompastor turned it around at the end with goals from Kadidiatou Diani in the 80th minute, Daelle Melchie Dumornay in the 85th, and Amel Majri in the 86th.
After goalkeeper Constance Picaud repeatedly prevented Lyon from scoring, Marie-Antoinette Katoto, against the run of play, gave PSG the lead and even missed the chance to make it three, in an uncontrolled start to the second half for the hosts.
Lyon never gave up and truly came back to life in the 80th minute when Diani, with the tip of her boot, reduced the score to 2-1, five minutes before the Haitian Dumornay scored the most beautiful goal of the afternoon, avoiding an opponent and 'shooting' the net.
With the away team disoriented by the lead that quickly evaporated, Majri, also after escaping an opponent, crossed with her left foot, completing an epic turnaround that puts Lyon ahead in the tie, which will be decided on April 28.
The Lyon players, who 'butchered' Benfica in the 'quarter-finals', hold the record for victories in the competition, with eight titles, while Paris Saint-Germain were runners-up in 2014/15 and 2016/17.
In the other semi-final, the defending champions, FC Barcelona, with three European titles, suffered their first defeat of the season, in their 38th game, at home to Chelsea, by 1-0, with a solitary goal from the Scottish Erin Cuthbert in the 40th minute, making the English dream of a second appearance in a Champions League final.
