'Dream' March earns Jota Silva the Primeira Liga Player of the Month award

Liga Portugal announced, in a press release issued through its official platforms at the end of Thursday morning, that Jota Silva was elected the best player to play in the top tier of national football in March.

The athlete from Gondomar thus sees recognition for what was a "dream" month, in which he helped Vitória SC to win four triumphs in four rounds, with a goal in each of them. In between, he also had the opportunity to make his debut for the main Portuguese national team.

The forward received 19.66% of the votes from coaches in the I Liga, which allowed him to overcome the competition from Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting (with 18.8%) and João Neves from Benfica (with 12.82%), who finished on the podium.

Jota Silva thus adds the award for best player to that of best forward. Charles Silva, also from Vitória, was the best goalkeeper, Pepe from FC Porto the best defender, João Neves from Benfica the best midfielder, and Rúben Amorim from Sporting the best coach.
