Hornchurch hosted and beat Cray Wanderers by 2-0 last Tuesday, in a match counting for the lower echelons of English football, which was marked by a chilling move.

In the final stretch, Tom Beere, from the visiting team, who had just 'jumped' from the bench, had to be taken off due to a serious injury suffered following a move shared with an opponent, which led to complaints from the club.

"The referee said 'He caught him on the ankle', and ordered a dropped ball", wrote Cray Wanderers, in a publication that went viral on social media.

"We need to have a serious discussion about referees... If my leg was planted, it would have been in two parts. But let's all support the referees, who have such a hard job", he added.
