"I am not available to trade the Chamber for a plate of lentils"
After his name was pointed out as the head of the list of the AD for the European Parliament, the party announced on Monday the name of Sebastião Bugalho.

He was pointed out as the head of the Democratic Alliance list for the European elections in June. But he was 'swapped' for Sebastião Bugalho. Rui Moreira reacted, this Tuesday, saying that he "was never invited" to head the list and is "very well" as mayor of Porto.
"I was never invited to head the list [of AD]", says Rui Moreira, in statements to journalists, in Serralves.
The mayor of Porto revealed that he was "sounded out" by the president of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), Luís Montenegro, to "be on the list as number two".
"And I thanked him very much for the invitation, I am very grateful and flattered, but it didn't make any sense", says Moreira, regretting, however, that they mentioned his name without any invitation to take on that position.
Rui Moreira also emphasizes that "there is no discomfort" with Montenegro and that he is "very well in the Porto City Council", where he assumes the functions of president.
"I said that I was not available to exchange the City Council for a plate of lentils. I said everything", said Rui Moreira, recalling his statements in an interview, in October last year.
Regarding the choice of AD to head the list for the European elections, Rui Moreira considered that Sebastião Bugalho "is a good choice", as well as the choice of Marta Temido by the Socialist Party (PS).
