"We are studying all the alternatives, but our wish was to build shared housing", said the vice-president of the Porto City Council, Filipe Araújo, during the session of the Porto Municipal Assembly.

Filipe Araújo, who was answering a question raised by the deputy Susana Constante Pereira, from the Left Bloc, said that it has been the municipality's intention for "a long time" to move forward with a project of this kind, but that this possibility is being studied.

"I think that the city would benefit from it", he added, considering the building "very interesting".

In early April, the Jornal de Notícias reported that the Ramalho Ortigão EB 2,3 School would close next school year and that the students, faculty and staff would be transferred to the Alexandre Herculano School, located about 10 minutes away.

"The students will be transferred to Alexandre Herculano", assured the vice-president, who replaced Mayor Rui Moreira in the session.
