Many people dream of having the perfect wedding. Some like to have a themed ceremony, while others prefer a more subtle affair. But this one was like something out of a fairy tale and had everyone in attendance feeling like they had been transported to another world.
The couple at the center of it all is British racing driver and champion Darren Leung and his bride Lucy Clayton — who have been causing quite the stir on social media ever since they said "I do" at the Grand Hotel Zermatterhof in Zermatt, Switzerland, which sits at 7,300 feet above sea level.
The photos and videos from the magical four-day wedding have gone viral, and the internet can't seem to get enough of the breathtaking celebration. Shared to Instagram by Lebanese Weddings on April 16, the images have captivated netizens and the over-the-top celebration had guests in awe.
The bride's grand entrance, where she emerged from an igloo, was a particular highlight. Live music, a performer dressed as a flying bird, drinks served in ice cubes, violinists dressed as snow angels and a glass-like snow aisle adorned with white roses added an extra touch of magic to the already elaborate affair, with every detail frozen to perfection.
The post was captioned: "Brrrr-ing on the wedding extravaganza! This Zermatt wedding had it all: breathtaking scenery, jaw-dropping entertainment and a bride who emerged from an igloo to steal the show!"
The dreamy and magical setup of the wedding has caught the attention of netizens from all over the world, with many left in awe of the arrangements and expressing their desire to have something similar on their big day. "Oh wow, definitely a unique setting! Very creative and beautiful!" one user wrote, with another saying: "Such a beautiful winter wonderland. Congratulations to the beautiful Snow White couple. This is so pretty."
Speaking to People, the wedding planner, Narvel, revealed that "the goal is to leave the audience in a state of awe." "How do we do this? We are the ones who love to do the extraordinary. It's the challenge of the seemingly impossible that truly excites me. Finding the balance is key — not to shock, but to captivate and have them on the edge of their seats," he added.
Discussing the various challenges he faced while planning Darren Leung and Lucy Clayton's special day, Narvel further noted: "Through storms, setbacks and strokes of bad luck, our team remained steadfast, united and singularly focused on doing whatever it took. As it unfolded, I knew in my heart that this wedding would captivate audiences far and wide."
