"The threat against IDF [Israel Defense Forces] soldiers and public figures in Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East and the only Jewish state in the world, is outrageous," Netanyahu said in a message posted on his Telegram account.

"We will not be deterred. Israel will continue to the very end in our just war against the abominable terrorists who seek to destroy us. We will never cease defending ourselves," the Israeli prime minister stressed.

Netanyahu noted that while none of the ICC's decisions affect Israel's actions, "they will create a dangerous precedent that threatens the soldiers and public figures of all democracies fighting against murderous terrorism and dangerous aggression."

Last week, Israeli media reported that Netanyahu's cabinet had held an emergency meeting due to the possibility that the ICC could launch an investigation and issue arrest warrants for Israeli military personnel and ministers over alleged violations of international law in the nearly seven-month war in Gaza.

On the other hand, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) announced today that it will rule on Tuesday on an appeal by Nicaragua, which accuses Germany of violating the 1948 Genocide Convention by supplying weapons to Israel for the war in Gaza.

In this lawsuit, Nicaragua criticized Germany for its support for Israel, considering it "pathetic" to give weapons to the Israeli government and at the same time provide aid to Gaza, a presentation that Berlin considered "grossly biased."

Germany responded that Israel's security is "at the heart" of its foreign policy.

"If we analyze it carefully, Nicaragua's accusations fall apart," Germany's representative, Christian Tams, told the judges.

Nicaragua requested five provisional measures, including that Germany "immediately suspend its aid to Israel, in particular its military assistance, including military equipment."

The war in Gaza was triggered on October 7 by an unprecedented attack by the Islamist movement Hamas against Israel, which caused the death of 1,170 people, mostly civilians, according to a report by the Agence France-Presse (AFP) based on official Israeli data.

In retaliation, Israel vowed to destroy Hamas, which has been in power in Gaza since 2007 and which it considers a terrorist organization, as do the United States and the European Union. Its army launched an offensive that has already caused more than 34,300 deaths, mostly civilians, according to the Health Ministry of the Islamist movement.
