Being a parent is a daily challenge, especially when children start to want to leave the 'nest' of their parents and become independent. An 11-year-old girl wanted to go out with her friends in the city of Mexicali, Mexico. The mother allowed it, but accompanied the entire meeting at a distance, which led to criticism of her attitude.
Blanca Zazueta documented her teenage daughter's first outing on the social network TikTok.
The minor went to a cafe with her friends and her mother accompanied her, staying outside the establishment, alone, supervising her daughter from afar.
The woman's behavior provoked a wave of reactions and much criticism. While some agree with Bianca's presence and praise her for "giving her space and taking care of her from a safe distance", others argue that her attitude is an "annoyance" for the minor.
The images went viral on social media, garnering over 1.3 million views.
