"The allocation of US military aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan will aggravate global crises: military aid to the Kiev regime is direct support for terrorist activities; to Taiwan, interference in China's internal affairs; to Israel, a direct path to an unprecedented aggravation of the situation in the region," criticized the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, on the digital platform Telegram.

Immediately after the approval in the US Congress of aid to Ukraine in the amount of almost 61 billion dollars (about 57 billion euros) -- long requested by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who welcomed it by stating that it "will save thousands and thousands of lives" -- the Kremlin reacted by stating that it "will kill even more Ukrainians because of the Kiev regime."

"The decision to provide aid to Ukraine was expected and predictable. It will further enrich the United States of America and further ruin Ukraine, killing even more Ukrainians because of the Kiev regime," argued the spokesperson for the Russian Presidency, Dmitri Peskov, quoted by the state news agency TASS.

The text presented on Wednesday in the lower house of the US Congress provides almost 14 billion dollars (13 billion euros) to train, equip and finance the Ukrainian Army.

About 10 billion dollars (9.3 billion euros) of economic assistance dedicated to the energy and infrastructure sectors will be sent in the form of a loan.

The aid plan also authorizes the US President, Joe Biden, to confiscate and sell Russian assets, so that they can be used to finance the reconstruction of Ukraine - an idea that is also gaining ground in other G7 countries (groups of the most industrialized countries in the world, which includes, in addition to the United States, Germany, Canada, France, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom, as well as a representation of the European Union).

The bill under debate in the US Congress also provides for 13 billion dollars (about 12 billion euros) of military assistance to Israel, a historical ally of the United States, which has been at war for more than six months with the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, in the Gaza Strip.

This money will be used, in particular, to reinforce the Israeli anti-missile shield, the "Iron Dome."

More than nine billion dollars (8.4 billion euros) are intended, on the other hand, to "respond to the urgent needs of humanitarian aid in Gaza and other vulnerable populations in the world," according to a summary of the document.

The project prohibits, on the other hand, any direct US funding to the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees, UNRWA, after Israel accused some of its workers of involvement in the October 7 attack last year, perpetrated by Hamas.

As Biden had requested, the text allocates more than eight billion dollars (7.5 billion euros) for the United States to confront China on the military level, investing in submarines, and on the economic level, competing with major Chinese projects in developing countries.

Several billion dollars are also earmarked to support Taiwan, an island of 23 million inhabitants that China considers one of its provinces.
