"Symptoms tend to be vague and non-specific" and "are easily attributed to stress and other conditions," she said. The Vitality Health Insurance doctor outlined some of the signs of ovarian cancer that should set alarm bells ringing, such as abdominal or pelvic pain, bloating, feeling full quickly and needing to urinate more often.

However, there are other warning signs women should watch out for. "Back pain or pain during sex, fatigue, constipation, as well as changes in your periods – irregular or heavier bleeding – and unexplained weight loss can also be symptoms to watch out for and should be discussed with your doctor," Godeseth advised.
