AF Lisboa expresses "rejection" of the incidents at Chaves-Estoril
The Lisbon Football Association (AFL) today expressed its repudiation of the incidents in the final phase of the Desportivo de Chaves-Estoril Praia match, expressing solidarity with the 'canaries', who ended the challenge of the 30th round reduced to nine elements.

"A week has passed since a regrettable episode in Portuguese football. The ALF repudiates the acts of violence and public disorder that marked the game (...) and, as is its duty, expresses its solidarity with its affiliate club Estoril Praia and with the entire structure present at the game", the organisation stated in a press release.
On Sunday, a pitch invasion during stoppage time resulted in clashes and assaults between Flavienses fans and Estoril Praia players, with goalkeeper Marcelo Carné and defender Pedro Álvaro being sent off with a straight red card for assaulting pitch invaders.
"When so many appeals are made for fans and families to attend stadiums, it is, for the ALF, incomprehensible that safety in sports venues may not be duly safeguarded, despite the increasingly heavy burden of obligations and rules that the different clubs are subject to", the institution criticised.
The ALF considers it "even more incomprehensible" when this lack of safety extends to the various sports agents, namely athletes, coaches, referees or managers, considering that this is "conditioning them in the performance of their mission".
The organisation calls on all stakeholders to ensure that, until the end of the championship, "the celebration of football is the dominant tone" in all matches.
In Trás-os-Montes, after a stoppage of about 20 minutes, the game resumed, with the Flavienses reaching 2-2 with a goal in the 90+20th minute, scored by Morim, when forward João Carlos was defending Estoril Praia's goal, due to the goalkeeper's sending-off and at a time when the 'canarinho' club had already used up all its substitutions.
The home team scored first, through João Correia, in the 32nd minute, but the Estoril players managed to turn the game around, with goals from Basso (58) and Fabrício (71), conceding the draw after the match resumed.
