Gonçalo Santos highlights important game for Casa Pia and vital for Chaves
Casa Pia coach Gonçalo Santos framed today as "very important" the reception to Desportivo de Chaves, who, in turn, will have a "decisive" duel in the 31st round of the Portuguese football league.

"Desportivo de Chaves is in a very difficult position and has spent practically the entire championship in the last places. For them, it will be a very decisive game and it is very important for us. We are in a good moment, playing good games, with a very competitive team, and we go into every game to win", said the coach.
In a press conference previewing the match, Gonçalo Santos expressed that the possibility of mathematically ensuring that Casa Pia does not end in the direct relegation zone "is an extra motivation", putting them in a good position to avoid the maintenance play-off.
"We cannot forget where we came from. It was a very long road and a lot of work from the players. This victorious path is due to them, to their daily belief and effort. We don't want to do the math at the end and I believe that, if we win, we have many teams behind us and we will be much closer to achieving the main goal", he stressed.
In the first round, Casa Pia won 3-1 in the visit to the Flavienses, who were already in a relegation position, but had the temporary peace of mind that there were still many months to go until the end of the competition, which is not the case now, with Gonçalo Santos expecting a "life or death" game for his rival.
"I really believe that, if we win, we will be practically saved. We will take a big step in the standings and get 35 points. If we look at the past, I think that only one team with 35 points failed to stay up. If we do our job, we can relax on the couch and see what the others will do", he pointed out.
In the defeat of the last round, against FC Porto, by 2-1, not all was bad news, since Kiki Silva returned to the pitch after a long break, more than a year, recovering from injury, allowing the entire squad to be used during the season.
"We are all very happy with Kiki's return. He is a very dear player. He has been training with us for several weeks now, he has had some relapses, which delayed his return to 100%. He is a reinforcement in the final stage, he is very motivated. We are all very happy with his response and we believe in him a lot for the remaining games and for next season", he said about an athlete with two matches for the 'geese'.
Casa Pia, ninth place, with 32 points, will host Desportivo de Chaves on Saturday, 17th and penultimate, with 23, at 3:30 pm, at the Estádio Municipal de Rio Maior, in a match of the 31st round of the I League, which will be refereed by João Gonçalves, from the Porto Football Association.
