Moments after Manchester City's thrashing of Brighton (0-4), Pep Guardiola applauded his team and rejected the idea that the Premier League title is only being contested with Arsenal, given Liverpool's two most recent consecutive 'stumbles'.

"Brighton have been struggling with many absences this season and, even so, they still play with courage. It was a very good game. We scored four goals, that's the key," he began by saying in statements quoted in BBC Sport.

“Title? There are five games to go, we know that the margins are very narrow. We are closer to the end," he added.

"Title fight only with Arsenal? That's not the case. What happened to Liverpool, with two consecutive defeats, can happen to Arsenal and it can happen to us. The important thing is that we are still there. There are still games to play," he added.
