Sunday's clash between Everton and Nottingham Forest, which ended with a win for the Toffees, was marked by the moment when Portuguese forward Beto collapsed and fell unconscious on the Goodison Park pitch.

After coming on in the 67th minute, the former Portimonense striker clashed heads with Morgan Gibbs-White and fell unconscious on the pitch.

The medical teams quickly entered the field and, after several minutes of assistance, the Portuguese left the field on a stretcher. As he left for the tunnel leading to the dressing room, Beto raised his thumb, indicating that he was okay. The Portuguese was applauded by the fans. He was replaced by another Portuguese player, ex-Sporting player Chermiti.

Later, through social media, Everton confirmed that Beto was knocked unconscious and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
